Dear Hailee, It has been over 100 degrees here in the great state of Texas for the past week or so. We have spent many of days in the pool, only to get out, get dressed and go back in! We have been having a lot of fun playing with the cousins. Nana and Papa arrived on Friday afternoon and you have not let Papa out of your sight! I bought you some cool floaties because your life vest seemed too bulky and gave you a BIG boo boo on your legs. I was nervous to see how you would handle the floaties but you jumped right in and took off! I am so proud of you!
Thursday was brother's 11th birthday. After we called him on the phone, you talked about him all day. You even searched for your Aunt Nae Nae to say," Um, you know what? My brother had a birthday. He's getting bigger now!" We hope brother had a GREAT birthday Thursday and and even better celebration at Grandma Leslie's yesterday. We will make him a special cake when we get home to celebrate. Wow! Three birthdays for brother!
Yesterday we discovered that it is almost your 1 month "no-binky" birthday which is a HUGE accomplishment for you. I know you really want a binky bad and would shove 10 in your mouth if you had the chance but you have been a BIG girl about it!
Last night we had family night. While you were napping, Grandpa, Chelsea and I went to Albertson's to stock up on "junk food" and then to Blockbuster to rent "Forrest Gump" and "Kit Kittridge." We then headed to Which Wich, where your cousin Zach works. (side note...Zach has grown so much that you don't even recognize "that man." You won't talk to him cause you say "I don't know him," ) He made up some of the best sandwiches I have ever tasted! Yummy! When we got home, I woke you up, we ate, and then we watched Forrest Gump together as a family. We all love that movie and laugh as if we have never seen it before. You watched about 3 quarters of the movie and really understood it. The part that I loved is when Jenny was getting on the bus in front of our nations capitol and you said, "Forrest really loves Jenny."
One more week here in Texas then off for your first trip to Las Vegas! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Mama LOVES the lights at night and all the fun shows they have on the strip like the Treasure Island ship show and the water show at the Bellagio. I know Grandpa can't wait to see them with you!
Okay sugar plum. Time for me to go outside and have some summer fun with you! Until next time!
